Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A very impressive Valpolicella clocking in at 14% ABV, which is the base level of Amarone, and that was achieved without appassimento to enhance sugars. Alcohol level is not everything, and this red backs it up with a complex nose and balanced structure. Black cherry and cassis are joined by black tea, tea tree oil, and pleasant oak spice. Bold and smooth tannins complement integrated and food-friendly acidity. Palate is smooth and concentrated with ripe dark fruit and oak that persist into the long finish. The perfect wine to blow away discerning palates without blowing the bank: exceptional value. Pair with intense cheeses, hearty meat stews, and rich veal dishes.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Plum coloured in the glass. This ripasso has a subtle nose with just a hint of barnyard. The palate shows mature fruit and nice medium weight. Time has smoothed out any rough edges here. Medium length finish. This is fairly restrained as ripassos go but makes a nice relaxing pour. Try it with spicy pasta. Tasted May 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Produced from the traditional Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara wine grapes in making Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore from the Veneto wine region, Ca'de'rocchi Montere 2015 has bright cherry, fresh red berry and chocolate aromas on the nose. On the palate, this is a layered red with cherry liqueur, plum, savoury herbs and sweet spice flavours on the palate. Very intense and powerful. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
