This is a vibrant blend of 60% Gamay Noir and 40% Pinot Noir grapes to create a medium-bodied, supple, smooth Niagara red wine. Notes of sour cherry and cranberry. This wine is aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. Ripe tannins and lots of acidity for tomato sauce dishes.

Food pairings: vegetarian lasagne, roasted garlic and lemon chicken, pork sausage cassoulet.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Bright garnet red with lively cherry, milk chocolate, sweet spice aromas, rather like cherry cough drops. Unbalanced weak palate with strong oak notes from 10 mos.in French oak, which overpowers the cherry and spice notes. Gamay overpowers the PN.

Thirty Bench Winemaker's Blend Double Noir 2016 is a vibrant red wine blend of 60% Gamay Noir and 40% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from the Niagara Peninsula wine region. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. Look for blue flowers, red and blackberry flavours with a touch of pepper spice flavours on the palate. Pair with a charcuterie platter. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
