Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Excellent price for this well balanced Cali cab. Aromas of currants and ripe berries, and a hint of smoke. Full bodied and smooth on the palate, with some slightly dry tannins, and bright acidity. Fruit is bright and fresh, and there is a hint of herbaceous and smoky notes on the finish. Enjoy with grilled sausages or burgers.
Produced by the Purple Wine Company, The Ringleader 2017 is a classic California Cabernet Sauvignon at a not-so-classic California price. Great value under $20. Derek Benham sold wine out of the trunk of his '67 Mustang before establishing the company in 2001. Easy to enjoy Cab with blackberry, black currant and spicy flavours on the palate. Pair with grilled fare from the BBQ. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
