Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The first aroma that comes through on this ruby coloured wine is cedar, followed by eucalyptus leaves, but the fruit is also very present. There are loads of juicy dark berries, mostly ripe blueberries, followed by a hint of cinnamon. The tannins are silky and well integrated with the acidity. There are flavours of dark berries, predominantly slightly tart blackberries, as well as espresso and a touch of cedar. An enjoyable wine!

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

15% ripasso Cabernet Franc boosts this Gamay. Ripe field berry, fruit preserve, and a hint of anise on the nose. Dry and medium-bodied, though very ripe and fruity. Balanced acidity and light tannins. Easy-drinking, perfect Summer red. Ideal with chicken wings, burgers, sausages. The perfect barbecue wine to sip while grilling and serve with whatever you're grilling.
Foreign Affair The Embrace (2016) is made in an unconventional ripasso-style blend of Gamay and Cabernet Franc red wine grapes from he Niagara Peninsula wine region. On the palate the wine is juicy strawberry, mixed berry compote and licorice. - Community Wine Reviews
