From the Niagara Peninsula wine region, The Foreign Affair Amarosé 2023 is great value at $20. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated it is intense with watermelon, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, tropical fruit and citrus zest flavours generous and zesty on the palate (thanks to the use of Appassimento-style dried fruit). Produced from mostly Gamay Noir with 13% in Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, it is a food-versatile rosé to enjoy with salmon steaks and veggie burgers from the grill. Amarose is produced from dried wine skins as well as lees contact, and while Appassimento is a famous winemaking method from the Veneto wine region, Amarose is uniquely Canadian.

Rosé food pairings: mild curry dishes, white turkey meat, fish tacos, salads.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
