Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Wow! This is a show stopper at a great price point. Sure to please the SuperTuscan fan who appreciates tart, chewy, tannic, inky, and uber aromatic Tuscan red. Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and 14%ABV. Complex savoury thyme, sage, cherry, tart strawberry, earthy minerality, with old world charm. Pairs well with herb roasted chicken, warm beef spinach salad with Panko-crusted goats cheese. @jonsteeves rated 91/100 - Tasted decanted 2 hours - Oct 2016 - bespoketastings.ca
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Absolutely alluring! I love the smell of this wine. Being a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, this IGT Toscana virtually qualifies as a "Super Tuscan." The nose shows pronounced notes of black fruit, ripe red berries, violets, anise, coco and savoury notes (do allow this wine to breathe, it changes drastically from its first pour). Flavours include pronounced winter herb notes, gamey notes, dates, licorice and chocolate. This wine is full-bodied with a long grippy (young tannins) mouthfeel, a well-balanced acidy and intense flavour concentration. Decant at least 2 hours prior to serving if drinking now. This wine, however, has tremendous aging potential (2023-2025). Enjoy with prime rib roast. Tasted Oct 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
