Reviews and Ratings

Gabriel Israel rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Taja Reserva continues to be one of the better choices for the price. Consistently delivers concentration, well integrated flavors and finish of dark overripped black fruit.
Great wine!
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is a usually-reliable Spanish red; pleasant if not overwhelming, and decent value.

This one was aged longer in bottle than I would normally recommend for the blend. Having said that, it was still holding its own quite well.

Earthy, oaky notes predominate, with lots of dark mushrooms. The fruit is much more muted, with cherries and over-ripe blackberries predominant.

Smooth finish, tannins are present but not nearly as chewy as when younger. Fruit fallen away slightly, leaving this a little less vibrant.

A good showing; though a couple years past ideal drinking window.

Tasted November 2014
The wine is made with mostly Monastrell plus dashes of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of blueberry, cherry, marzipan, tar and smoke make for a nose of great complexity and depth. The palate is medium bodied and well balanced with well-integrated flavours that deliver a taste experience even more exciting than that promised by the nose. A wine that deliciously delivers the intensity and richness found in the vineyards of Jumilla. Source: Vintages Wine Panel

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
