Lemon-yellow essence with some dry honey and white peach on this Australian white wine made from the lesser-known Marsanne grape, traditional to the Rhone Valley. Wonderful white that will get you out of that Chardonnay rut you’ve been in. Rhone grapes do very well in Australia's Victoria region due to the climate and soils there. Pair with veal.

Marsanne food pairings: crab cakes, pork tenderloin, cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Victoria winery, owned by five generations of the Purbrick family has some of the oldest Marsanne vines in the world and take great pride in this single varietal wine. Citrus, green apple and pungent aromas of honeysuckle waft from the glass. On the palate some mineral and lemon with a good balance of acidity and fruit. Perfect pairing with fish and crab cakes. Tasted February 12, 2017.
Rhone style wine grapes do very well in Australia's Victoria region due to the climate and soils there, as does the Marsanne that makes up the 2015 vintage of this wine. Tahbilk is owned by the Purbrick family. Originally slated to be a dairy farm, plans changed and a winery was created instead. The winery is located in the Nagambie Lakes region of Central Victoria. The Purbrick’s have five generations of family ownership and are the oldest family owned winery in the State of Victoria. - Community Wine Reviews
