This woman (and winery) consistently produces the highest/best quality-price ratio wines I taste. Terrific! This is full-bodied with fleshy rip black fruit and yet there's also juicy mouth-watering action for many dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Fantastic. A smooth, full-bodied Malbec just perfect for a meal of red meat. The aromas are mainly black cherry, blueberry, and smoky dark chocolate. The taste is black cherry with a strong dark chocolate overtone. There's a little extremely rounded tannin and medium acidity. Well worth the wait having this 2009 in 2016. The hits well above it's weight price-wise, comparing favourably to wines at more than twice the price.
Heavily charred and roasted throughout, with a blackened nose. The palate is broad and chewy, with thick tannins and roasted, ripe flavors of blackberry, licorice and bitter chocolate. Remains severely toasted all the way to the final drop; aged in 80% new French oak (apparently fully toasted oak). Score: 90 Source: Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
