A vibrant, full-bodied red wine blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Lush on the palate with ripe dark plums, black currant, blueberry, dark cherry and mocha-vanilla flavours on the palate. Delightful now. Pour with a beef tenderloin.

Meritage food pairings: pepper steak, smoked meats, slow-braised beef brisket.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This impressive Okanagan blend showcases how rich and robust Sunrock Vineyards' Red Meritage is. Bramble, currant, cherry, raspberry pie, Black Sage, sweet spices, and cedar on the nose. Full bodied, velvety smooth, with a refreshing spicy finish, this is an impressive wine to enjoy right away, and will reward patience in the cellar the next 5+ years when enjoyed with hearty meals, creamy mushroom risotto, or simply on its own. Tasted November 2020. 92-93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely Meritage blend. Aromas of currant and red cherry with hints of bramble, baking spice, and smoke. Full bodied and smooth on the palate with soft tannins and medium+ acidity. Fruit and berry flavours are ripe and rounded, with a hint of smokiness on the finish. Enjoy with rustic mushroom dishes.
Sunrock 2016 Meritage is a full-bodied and harmonious blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot with good acidity for food and juicy on the palate with ripe plum, mocha, raspberry compote, cassis and cedar brush flavours. Nicely done, pour with roast beef or chicken. - Community Wine Reviews
