Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

From Stina winery on the island of Brac (pronounced Brotch) an inviting and appealing Plavac Mali. The colour is deep opaque burgundy. Aromas are profound here - it could've been the fact that the first time I dipped my nose into the glass I was surrounded by Rosemary bushes and Mediterranean air! The bouquet was transforming and not quite like anything I had experienced before. Elements of red plum, cherry, vanilla bean, mixed berries, fresh flowering herbs. Flavours revealed red chutney, spice, smoke, anise, game meat and a peppery finish that harmonized gracefully with crushed stone and flecks of mineral. Full bodied and dry with symmetrical elevated acidity and a firm, coordinated tannic backbone. Well rounded and balanced. Enjoyed this with some lovely lamb and fresh herbs. Grilled or blackened fish or venison steak would also be a lovely companion. 93 points.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
