Natalie's Score: 91/100

Vintages Wine Panel: Pure, with an excellent core of raspberry and boysenberry fruit riding atop racy, graphite and iron notes. Unfined and unfiltered. My note: A rich, round, full-bodied red with attractive notes of coffee, blackberry, mocha and tobacco. The grapes for this wine were gently basket pressed and spent 22 months in French oak. It has a lovely, long finish.

Syrah food pairings: peppercorn steak, ratatouille, cassoulet, fruit chutney, ostrich.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Crushed red berries, coffee, light pepper note. This is all about the pure fruit. No brett, very nicely made. Medium-long finish. Drink now. (ottawwinejournal.com)
Glenda rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This wine has a bold nose with fragrances of white pepper. On the palate there are spicy flavours with a savory smokiness. Not a very robust wine but rather an elegant wine. The finish is long and spicy.
I had this wine duck spring rolls and the combo worked well.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
