Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This wine is an oak free and enjoyable blend of Carignan, Syrah, Grenache and Lladoner. What is more, it is the first vintage released by this estate. Grown at 280 to 400 metres above sea level on granite rich hillside near Ansignan, France, this red blend offered generous amounts of ripe fruit, black pepper and eucalyptus. Delightful.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Mouthwatering red blend, predominantly GSM. Medium plus bodied, medium plus tannins, with ripe red cherry, blackberry, licorice root, wet stone minerality Paired well with roast chicken. Tasted 2016 vintage in March 2019. 89 points #goodvalue
Produced by France Sébastien Calduch, vign., Domaine Sous La Montagne (DSM) Vin D'altitude 2016 is a fresh, medium-bodied Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Lledoner Pelut red wine blend from grapes sourced, as you can guess, from high-altitude vineyards near the village of Ansignan. Dry and fresh with red berry, tart cherry and pepper spice flavours on the palate, tannins are silky smooth. Quite approachable now and enjoy for the next three years. Pair with roast duck. - Community Wine Reviews
