Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Sophora is a lovely, pale pink 52% Chardonnay, 48% Pinot Noir blend. Light in body, the sparkling wine literally dances on the palate with a lively, persistent and creamy mousse. On the nose it is perfumed fresh strawberries, raspberries. On the palate, fresh red berries are underpinned by minerality from the wine resting on its lees for over a year. This wine is elegant and finishes long with light, creamy citrus and pink grapefruit flavours. At 12% abv, it is wonderful on its own, but would also be perfect for brunch or as an aperitif. A very pleasant wine, it reminds me of a sunny, Sunday summer afternoon in the garden and I think it would go great with that!
Many cool climate wines thrive in New Zealand, and this sparkling wine is one of them. This zesty bubbly is a blend of 52% Chardonnay with 48% Pinot Noir grapes. This wine's name, Sophora, is derived from the tree that blossoms on the bottle's label. - Winery

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
