Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro - Andrea's Wine Cellar rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby colour fruit aromatics. Decanting recommended. An enveloping bouquet consisting of cherry, light skinned plum, red currants, cranberry, cedar, vanilla extract and mushroom earthiness. Flavours are vibrant and forward. Lots of red fruit, strawberry, blackberry, liquorice and spicy freshly ground black pepper. High acidity and velvety tannins. Enigmatic and noticeable vibrancy. This songbird has left a lingering and memorable melody. Pair with rosemary pork tenderloin and dry roasted beef ribs.

Songbird Lyrical Red (2014) is a Syrah Merlot wine blend from the Columbia Valley wine region in Washington. Something different from that wine region. Keep an eye on this wine. - Community Wine Reviews

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
