Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Rich and evolving. Deeply coloured with enveloping red and black fruits that complement the firm structure. Blackberry, plum, raisin, salted pistachio and nutmeg. Flavours are diverse, pronouncing light plum, ripe strawberry compote, cocoa, salted black licorice and fresh thyme and bay leaves. Tannins are high but well integrated with a lasting leathery fruit finish. Decant 1-2 hours Pair with beef short ribs or herbed lamb. 92 points. Tasted January 2018
Signae Montefalco (2009) is from the Sagrantino, Umbria wine region in Italy. Red wine from Umbria includes Torgiano and Montefalco - Torgiano is made from the grapes of Chianti, while Montefalco uses the native sagrantino grape to make big, bold reds. - Community Wine Reviews
