Reviews and Ratings

Nicole Lewis rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This Portuguese sports a lovely cloak of deep garnet and offers up aromas of sweet, ripe black cherry, black berry, cigar box and vanilla. The palate is greeted by crisp acidity yet ripe black cherry, smoke and vanilla. There are suede tannins that are nicely integrated with flavour profile and acidity.

This would pair well with a rich red meat stew.

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A bold, full bodied wine with lots of complexity. Aromas of smoky oak, vanilla, cocoa, black cherry, blackberry, and black pepper. The taste follows the aroma quite nicely and adds a touch of sour cherry and some silky tannins. A solid, tasty, complex wine that would pair well with rare steak.
This wine was matured for 14 months in French and American oak barrels. - Winery

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
