This wine has been produced since 1895 and today the vines are about 30 years old. Serious zing for fun barbecues. Spicy, peppery, packed with jammy black fruit but not heavy. Mouth-watering juicy and lovely. The Seghesio Zinfandel is one of Californian's best Zins. The grapes for this Zinfandel grow in vineyards planted in the Alexander Valley and Dry Creek in Sonoma. Pair with gourmet hamburgers.

Zinfandel food pairings: prime rib, grilled pork, chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A very complex premium Zinn with all the plummy over-ripe fruit one would expect, but with lovely spicy notes sometimes seen in Italian Primitivo. Power with complexity.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Truly stunning. Lots of black briar, cola, fruit skin, warm spice, dried strawberry, earth and a hit of fresh herb. There’s some steeped tea notes here. 92 Points

Mouth-watering juicy and lovely - one of California's best Zins. Pair with gourmet hamburgers. Drink now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
