Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark opaque ruby/garnet with ripe raspberry & blackberry jam nose. Absolutely delicious layered palate gives blackberry jam, dried herbs, lavender, salinity and black olives with a lingering finish.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A densely rich full-bodied Syrah from an up and coming Cotes Catalanes in the French Midi. Intense aromas and flavours of ripe black fruit, chocolate, cherry cordial, herbs de Provence, warm baking spices. The tannins in this beauty are polishing and acidity is bright and refreshing. The length is long on a warming pepper finish. Drinking nicely now but has potential to age up to 10 years. Savour with a grilled Rib Eye steak.
Tasted: January 2016
Produced by Château de l'Ou, the 2011 vintage of the Cotes Catalanes Secret de Schistes is very full-bodied and concentrated. Meaty, savoury mid-palate notes. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
