Reviews and Ratings

A joyously vibrant and energetic Californian Pinot Noir from the heartland of where the movie Sideways was filmed in Santa Barbara. Lip-smacking delicious cherry aromas and flavours. Medium-bodied and silky smooth. Pair with grilled chicken. MINE: Seaglass XXXX is a vibrant, medium-bodied Pinot Noir from Santa Barbera County. On the nose, black raspberries, cherry, violets, and cedar and on the palate the wine is just shy of off-dry with ripe red berries, blue florals and cake spice on this medium-length wine. Tannins are well-integrated and this wine is easy to enjoy. OTHER: Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: @SEAGLASSwines A hint more colour than most Pinots. Medium ruby with an abundant bouquet featuring; cherry, strawberry, raspberry and intricate elements of violets and spice. Flavours are sublime; wow, soft fresh garden salad greens, cherry, ripe pomegranate juice, smoke, and a touch of stewed strawberry with a sprinkling of cocoa powder. A whisper of cigar box also present. Medium acidity, light body and tannins with a short lime zest finish. Brilliantly balanced, fun and fruity. This is a pleasant pairing for soft cheeses and tuna crudo. 90 points - January 2018. OTHER: Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Pinot Noir is famous for its ability to really show terroir. An adage you hear from growers (aside from how fickle it can be) is how you can grow Pinot vines in two plats across the street from one another and they will be very different. For Pinot, there is a sweet spot for consumers. A style, a place they usually gravitate towards. If you like soft, silky, ultra fruity Cali Pinot Noir, this one is a steal. Not particularly deep in colour. Pale ruby, with some darker purple towards the centre. Bright petunia, rosehip, cherry candy, and smooshed strawberry. The flavours have some nice cocoa hints, but it is abundantly all about the silky texture and the fruit. Cherry and bumbleberry pie. Santa Barbara is a sunny wine growing region that crafts some pretty fun wines. Pinot is a great cellar candidate normally, but this one's strength comes from its inherent fruitiness. The sun off the Californian coast has given it a wonderful ripeness. Maybe drink it over the next five years to preserve that. OTHER: The name SeaGlass refers to the beautiful wind- and wave-polished shards of glass that can be found washed up on beaches. This 2016 Pinot Noir offers lush red fruit, plum, cherry, herbs, delicate smoke notes and a vibrant, crisp acidity. This is a complex, youthful, sophisticated wine. Enjoy with salmon and a dill cucumber salad. (Vintages panel, June 2018). - Community Wine Reviews
