A rich wine with sweetly ripe cherries and lush red currants. Voluptuous, mouth-filling texture and pleasing full-bodied weight. A comfy blue jeans kind of wine.

Merlot food pairings: veal stuffed with sausage, quesadillas, brisket, tacos, chili dog.

Reviews and Ratings

Paula Bernardino rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

Discovered this merlot from Robert Mondavie while having dinner at Casey’s on a summer evening. A smooth wine with a nice black cherry colour and flavour with a hint of oak. I enjoyed it with a sole fillet wrapped in a crunchy golden breadcrumb and veggies all in a light taste of lemon.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
