Love this full-bodied Napa Valley Chardonnay with ripe golden apple, yellow plum, smoky vanilla and mineral flavours creamy on the palate. Pair with rich seafood dishes or roast chicken. Produced by Genevieve Janssens who moved from her native France 40 years ago to the Napa Valley to study and an assistant oenologist under the mentorship of Robert Mondavi himself

Chardonnay food pairings: grilled chicken, seafood Shepherd's pie, smoked salmon, goat cheese and spinach pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A beautiful expression of premium Napa Chardonnay from Napa's iconic Robert Mondavi Winery. Sourced primarily from Hyde Ranch in the heart of Napa's Carneros AVA where many of Napa's finest Chardonnay's are born. 2017 Reserve Chardonnay is a very expressive, luxuriously layered, and beautifully balanced Chardonnay which is ideally suited to enjoy this Autumn and throughout the holiday season with seasonal dishes, and those looking to cellar will be rewarded with patience as this premium wine is structured to evolve gracefully over the next two decades. The nose shows ripe apple, tropical fruits, floral blossom, white pepper, with a hint of salted caramel. The palate showcases the depth and breadth of flavours expected in a premium Chardonnay, with expressive orchard and tropical fruits, lees, and a very refreshing and creamy texture leading to a long baked orchard fruit finish. Enjoy ever so slightly chilled with creamy soups, roasted poultry or pork dishes, creamy cheese, or chicken pot pie. Tasted September 2020. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A gorgeous and balanced Chardonnay. Aromas of golden apple, pineapple, and pear, along with notes of honey, almond and caramel. This wine is creamy, full bodied and smooth, with moderate acidity, ripe, rich fruit that is rounded and vibrant, and just a touch of honey on a lengthy finish. Beautiful! Enjoy with seared scallops or roasted chicken.
Robert Mondavi Reserve 2017 Chardonnay is a rich, full-bodied Chard, smoky and spicy on the nose with fresh golden apple, vanilla, toasty spice, lemon buttercream, butterscotch flavours with a touch of tropical fruit and a clean mineral finish on the palate. Great food-friendly acidity. Chill and enjoy with buttered lobster rolls. - Community Wine Reviews
