Very tannic with a firm dry grip on the palate and finish through to the back throat. Could use cellar time. When you do open it, decant for 2 hours. Aromas of black fruit and smoke. Pair with prime rib.

Barolo food pairings: roast venison, roast leg of lamb, Porterhouse beef steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a good interepretation of the famous Piedmonte classic, Barolo. It is big and bold in style, with ripping tannin.
Deep garnet colour.
The aromas have lots of Barolo's signature aromatics. Sour cherry, truffle, tar, roses, raspberry with some firm, but not overdone, oak.
To the palate, there's some baker's chocolate, coffee, liquorice, camphor, violet, rose, tar, leather, squashed strawberry, and raspberry.
Huge wine that almost reaches 15% alcohol. Tasty, but it may need some years to integrate and mellow. Age it for a decade - no problem.
Put it with roast duck or tenderloin and root vegetables, charred.
Réva (2012) is a smoky, dark chocolate, espresso and sweet tobacco Barolo from the Piedmont wine region in the Langhe area. Reva is made with 100% Nebbiolo wine grapes. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
