Remo Farina Ripasso Valpolicella Classico is a juicy, vibrant full-on Italian red wine with mocha flavours from generous oak aging. Lots of black fruit, plums and spice and perfect for the grilled fare. The wine has great balance and structure and is a red wine blend of 50% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella, 5% Molinara and 10% Oseleta. Juicy, robust and vibrant Italian: a terrific wine especially at this price point. Aromas of black fleshy ripe blackberries, black plums and some dark spice. Almost reminds me of Californian Zinfandel but with a darker undertone. Perfect for grilled lamb.

Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore food pairings: hearty winter stew, turkey burgers, pasta with a rich, meaty tomato sauce.

Terrific Turkey Wine

Reviews and Ratings

Remo Farina 2016 is a great value ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore from the Veneto wine region. Look for rick dark cherry, pepper, cake spice and dried tobacco leaf on this juicy medium-plus bodied red. Pair with a meatlover's pizza. The Farina family from Veneto, Italy, have had their roots in agriculture and winemaking since the late 1500s. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
