Reviews and Ratings

Jerry Wettlaufer rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Enjoyed the 2012; reminded me of a good quality left bank Bordeaux
Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I tried the Reif Estates Meritage at the Taste Ontario 2013 event in Ottawa and I was pleasantly surprised by this nice blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. This Meritage was stored mostly in French oak and some Hungarian oak and reveals flavours of dark fruit and some pepper. The tannins are a little more refined which gives it a nice softness. It's not overpowering but it has a full bodied feel to it. This Meritage would pair well with a beef ribs or stew.
The juice pressed from clean, ripe fruit underwent fermentation for 18 days, using selected yeast. Oak barrel aging in predominantly French Oak with 10% Hungarian and American Oak which contribute to the distinct intensity of this superior red wine. Blend consists of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
