Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This creation caught my attention with it’s big and appealing aromas, starring layered expressions of ripe dark berries and plums and co-starring some baking spices. All Spice comes to mind among others. Those notes stand centre stage as flavours, too.

In my glass, this red feels full bodied, super dry, velvety, with lighter touch tannins.

I’ll serve this with BBQ and grilled mushrooms.

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Love this seriously rooster label of Rare Bird Series Malbec 2017 from Red Rooster Winery. This plucky ;) Malbec is a lot more friendly than the rooster looks with a rich nose of ripe blueberry, marionberry, rich dark chocolate, anise and cinnamon spice aromas on the nose. The wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied with a mouthful of plushy dark berry fruit, plum, violets, cocoa, sweet baking spice and subtle savoury herbs on the palate with balanced acidity and silky tannins. Friendly, enticing and very quaffable. Tasted April 2022.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
