Terrific price for this juicy unoaked robust Portuguese red with good balance and concentration of flavour. This blend of four indigenous grapes offers aromas of cedar, black cherry and cranberry. Plushly textured. This producer is one of five in the Douro Valley known as the Douro Boys.

Food pairings: slow-braised brisket, roast goose, rabbit fricassee.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Tasty, tart and juicy. Dry. Chewy mouthfeel. Big tannins, still integrating. Medium alcohol, medium acidity. Paired well with gourmet braised beef sandwich. Tasted 2015 vintage in October 2017. 88 points. Good value
Russell McDowell rated this wine as 88/100
What a terrific price for this juicy unoaked robust Douro red blend of 35% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz, 25% Touriga Franca and 10% Tinta Barroca from Crasto. A small portion of the blend was aged for six months in French oak. - Community Wine Reviews
