Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Portugal has delivered some truly remarkable wines - this one from Quadrus is no exception. A blend of Touriga Nacional (55%), Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo 30%), and Souzao (15%). The flavors in this wine are fantastic - figs, prunes, dark cherry, mineral, mocha, cracked black pepper and anise, delivering a luscious mouthfeel and lengthy spice on the finish. Drink now or cellar for 3-5 years. This is a great wine!
Quadrus (2012) is a project of Aris Kaplanis, Tony Amaro and Mario Amaro; the Amaros are Toronto restaurateurs. The red wine blend for this Douro wine is 55% Touriga Nacional with 30% Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) and 15% Souz√£o red wine grape, typically used in the production of port style wines. Pair with braised meats and hearty meat stews. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
