A lovely expression of Colchagua Valley terroir. This is a terrific, full-bodied Chilean red wine made from the country's signature red wine grape Carmenere. Carmenere is believed to have traveled from Bordeaux, where it was one of the six original grape varieties planted there before the devastation from the root louse Phylloxera in 1867 wiped out all the vines. Chile's natural protections from this vine louse include the ocean, the Andes mountains and the dessert. Carmenere is named for it's colour - crimson (carmin). It has some similarities with Merlot but is not the same grape. Aromas of dark red fruit and toasty oak. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Another incredible value Chilean red, vinified with fruit from Colchagua Valley. Full-bodied and dry, it’s bursting with aromas and flavours of ripe dark berries. Intense, fleshy and generous with smooth tannins, tons of dark fruit, plenty of weight and beautifully integrated oak. Great length. Fantastic with grilled meats. Tasted February 2017. Tasted March 15th 2017 at wine club. The colour a clear ruby red. On the nose cherry, plum a note of bell pepper. The palate was dark cherry,plum a tobacco note and very soft tannins easy to drink. Well liked by all members.
