Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Nk’Mip Cellars definitely understands Chardonnay! Nk’Mip Cellars 2017 Qwam Qwmt (pronounced kwem kwempt) Chardonnay is luxurious, brilliantly balanced and over delivers on delicious. Bright gold in the glass, intense with fresh melon, mineral, lemon curd, creamery butter and subtle oak spice aromas on the nose. Full-bodied, smooth and mouth-coating with layers of creamy mango, lemon curd, buttered popcorn, vanilla and well-integrated oak spice flavours on the palate. The wine is buttery and rich, but also silky elegant with balanced acidity and finishes long and vibrant with butterscotch, vanilla and a clean mineral lift right to the end.

From the Osoyoos Indian Band (OIB), Qwam Qwmt means achieving excellence and that they have with the 2017 Chardonnay. The Chardonnay grapes for this vintage were sourced from the winery’s 40-year-old estate vineyard and the wine was aged 10 months in French oak barrique.

Paired with sautéed filet of sablefish and a simple squeeze of lemon juice, but would also easily pair with butter- sautéed steelhead and smoked Chinook salmon.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
