Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This French Oak barrel fermented, Chardonnay is from Marlborough’s Nautilus Estate Winery. Initially it has an appealing bouquet that grabbed my attention right away. Evolving with grilled pineapple, passion fruit, toasted hazelnuts, apple blossoms, flint rocks and fresh vanilla. There’s a lees-driven lingering aromas that is becoming.
Flavours reveal yellow plums, starfruit, apple crumble and baked pie crust with an oily mouthfeel. Acidity is brisk and well balanced against the medium body. Full and flavourful without being overly “buttery”. This will accompany a bevy of dishes. Something like Flat crust white sauce Bechamel chicken pizza would be divine. 92 points - tasted July 2019
A vegan-friendly, cool-climate Chardonnay from Marlborough, South Island. Clean and crisp with green melon, lemon zest, apple pie, toasted nut and creamy vanillas flavours on the palate. Long, elegant finish. Pair with fresh steamed lobster. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
