Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A delightful and deliciously fresh bubble from Haywire Winery, Narrative XC Sparkling 2022 is the newest release of this very pretty and joyful bubble that has springtime written all over it!

Crafted from Auxerrois and Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Naramata wine region in British Columbia, initial fermentation was in concrete and stainless-steel tanks to retain fruit freshness, then in large barrels for added complexity. The cuvée received secondary fermentation in Charmat tanks for XC days ;)

Fresh and fragrant with subtle tropical fruit aromas and spring florals, it is dry and delicate with a mouth filling mousse creamy, fresh and lingering on the palate. It’s so pretty from head to toe and so easy to love at 12% abv. This bubble will go fast! Tasted February 2025.

A bit about Narrative wines: Narrative is a collection of wines focussing on the terroir, the geological and climatic diversity in this expanse of the Okanagan wine region, 120 kilometres from north to south. “Using grapes from various vineyards throughout the valley, winemaker Kat D’Costa is able to share more diverse varieties and flavours each year.”

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
