Reviews and Ratings

Very viscous rich and full-bodied for Pinot Grigio, supported by high alcohol at 14.5. Yet, this is balanced and tasty with aromas of Asian pear and baking spices. Pair with rich seafood dishes and cream sauces. MINE: From the Südtirol, Alto Adige wine region, Nals Margreid Punggl (2015) is a medium-plus bodied and bone-dry Pinot Grigio with fresh, crisp apple, pear and zesty lemon flavours finishing long. Pair with grilled seafood. OTHER: Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: A Pinot Grigio that has notes of minerality and sea salt as well as bruised apple, stone fruit and almond aromas. In terms of flavours, there is lots of citrus, especially lemon, and almond at the finish. This is a full bodied white wine with fresh acidity. Tasted November 2017. OTHER: Bright golden yellow. Complex aromas of peach and tropical fruit complemented by sweet spices and wet minerals. Rich, dense and juicy, with spicy orchard fruit flavors and a long creamy finish. Large-scaled and powerful (14% alcohol) but this knockout Pinot Grigio actually tastes graceful and balanced. Made from 80-year-old pergola-trained vines in Magrè (Margreid, in German) planted on deep grey clay soil. Punggl means "small hill". About 35,000 bottles made a year. Drinking window: 2018-2021. Score - 93 (Ian D'Agata, vinous.com, Dec. 2018). - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
