Sour cherry and tart cranberry on the nose of this full-bodied South African red wine made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. Lots of acidity for tangy meat sauces.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ruby red, tangy, tart cherry, pomegranate aril on the palate. Full-bodied, well-concentrated fruit, medium plus acidity, lingering long finish with persistence of pomegranate and savoury herb. This is a great value offering access to a well made value priced South African red blend. @jonsteeves rated 89/100 - tasted Sept 2016.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Blackberry and cherry aromas with cinnamon, chocolate, baking spice and cassis on the palate. Well balanced with smooth tannins and finish. Pair with grilled hanger steak.
The nose promises much – cedar wood, cigar box, tiny blackcurrants and a distinctive herbaceous edge courtesy of the Cabernet Franc – and the palate more than delivers on that promise with rich, savoury flavours of black olive tapenade, cassis, some perfumed sandalwood and a long finish which develops from fruit to savoury, and ends with an enticing combination of the two.
This wine epitomises balance, with the elegant tannins, fresh acidity and masterly oak treatment all playing their part.
