Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fresh and ripe dark fruit defines the bouquet with blackcurrant, cassis, and black cherry. Expect balanced oak spice and even a floral hint to appear in the background. Impressive grip of the tannins and vibrant acidity makes this better as a food wine, but not prohibitive on its own. Dark fruit becomes jammy on the palate and finish while tannins slowly relinquish their grip amidst traces of smoke and vanilla. Very good Chilean CS at an excellent price. Perfect for some rosemary braised lamb shanks.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Morandé Gran Reserva 2015, from Maipo Valley in Chile, shows a vibrant quality for a Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of black plum, berry jam, black pepper, wet gravel, vanilla, toffee and oak. Rich and opaque, this full-bodied wine delivers polished tannins and a velvety finish. Palate, dark skin plum, prune, dried herbs, black pepper, clay dust, mocha, cigar and oak. Enjoy!
Morandé 2015 is a single-vineyard Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley wine region. Earthy florals and savoury herb aromas on the nose. Bright black currant, citrus and earthy, savoury herb flavours on the palate. Decant two hours prior to serving with a juicy striploin steak. - Community Wine Reviews
