Purple plums and blueberries: sweet fleshy fruit and lots of heft. Rich robust flavours of fleshy black plums and blackberries, liqueur-like concentration, though it's a dry wine. Good dark spice and signed contracts on the finish. Pair with rare meats.

Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico food pairings: polenta dishes, venison, beef daube, leg of lamb, pasta with tomato sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Medium garnet colour with black cherry, blackberry, raisin, prune, vanilla, toast, leather, violets, chocolate and sweet spices. This is full-bodied loveliness. Great gift wine. Lots of ageing potential. I would love to taste this Amarone in 10 years. Pair with finer cuts of beef. I will drink this with cheeses as dessert.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Blackberry, stewed fruits, dried fruits, plum, figs, cherry, and kirsch on the nose and palate. Rich and luscious, this is a super concentrated Amarone with a beautiful dried fruit and fig finish. Lovely! 93 points. Tasted May 2015. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Broker a deal between competing motorcycle gangs with this robust red. It's the only way to make them all fall silent and agree on something. Finishes with mocha and black cherry. - Community Wine Reviews
