Natalie's Score: 89/100

Tart black fruit with aromas of various dark berries, smoke and cedar. A firm tannic grip on the palate that will smooth out with cellar aging and then decanting 1-2 hours. Full-bodied. This will also do very well in the cellar, but even better in your glass.

Malbec food pairings: grilled radicchio, lamb cutlets, pasta, beef tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Malbec from Argentina's Mendoza region shows ripe red plums and a touch of graphite on the nose. The palate shows dark plums, vanilla, baking spice, oak and slight tar/smoke. Full-bodied with a long spicy dark plum finish.
The winemaker is Roberto de la Mota. The grapes for the 2011 vintage come from ungrafted 82-year-old vines in the vineyards of Mayor Drummond and Perdriel. The wine is matured in new, second and third year use oak. Pair with hearty meat dishes. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
