Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A lovely Sangiovese with a bit of Merlot to add some body and smoothness. Aromas of dark cherry, plum, raisin, dried herbs, leather and a touch of a savoury note. Full bodied, with young, rounded tannins, ripe and dried berry and herbs, and a drying finish with hints of warm spice. Enjoy with cured meats and firm cheeses.
Mazzei Fonterutoli 2017 Chianti Classico is produced from 90% Sangiovese with some Merlot and Malvasia Nera. Opulent with black cherry, spiced plum, cinnamon, nutmeg and savoury herbs with an earthy and blood orange peel finish. Supple and full on the palate. Pair with grilled game sausages. - Community Wine Reviews
