A big, black and rich Italian red wine, with a river of black cherry liqueur running through its heart. Full-bodied and supple with a long finish. Decant 2 hours and put on the Italian tenors. Pair this with grilled meats and the History Channel.

Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico food pairings: red meats, mature cheeses, pasta with a tomato sauce, roasted venison.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

In a word - YUM! Classic Amarone characteristics of dried fruit, violets, just bitten cherry, some warm spices. Full-bodied, deep ruby colour with balanced medium+ acidity. Tannins are evident as this wine is still young for Amarone. I would suggest decanting at least 2 hours before serving. Better still, let this wine evolve in your cellar. 10 years or more.
Grilled red meats pair nicely with Amarone but I love it with dark chocolate or salty cheeses such as Stilton or stinky aged cheddar.
Tasted: August 2015
In 1986, the Villa Girardi family founded this winery with the villa designed by Luigi Trezza, a famous Veronese architect in the late 1700s. A value-priced Amarone. Pair with cheddar cheese. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
