Wine grapes for Masserie Pisari 2017 Primitivo are grown in the Conca d'Oro Valley just 10 minutes from the climate moderating Mediterranean Sea. Intense ruby in the glass with rich red berry, cherry, plum, smoke flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm and nicely chewy. Enjoy now and for the next five years. Pair with sticky pork ribs.

Primitivo food pairings: cheese pizza, hard cheeses, roast leg of veal.

Reviews and Ratings

From Salento, Puglia wine region, Masserie Pisari 2017 is a fantastic value, medium-bodied and juicy Primitivo under $15. The wine is full-bodied with dried berries, ripe dark plum, blueberry flavours wrapped up in a smattering of pepper and cake spice. Very nicely done, particularly at this price. Tannins are chewy and there great acidity for food on this wine. Pair with meat lovers' pizza. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
