Love the cedar-spice notes that wreathe the dark red berry aromas on the nose. Layers of supple, full-bodied flavor. Terrific balance and length. This blend or cuvée is matured in oak for about a year and leads with syrah. Attractive black plums and cedar spice on the finish. Decant 1-2 hours.

Syrah food pairings: lamb cutlets, chicken, beef bourguignon, Tourtière.

Reviews and Ratings

King rated this wine as 88/100
Perry rated this wine as 82/100
Offering up beautiful aromatics of black raspberry and black currant that is intermixed with notions of spice-box, smoke, and meat qualities, this medium+ bodied 2010 has a layered, rich texture, solid concentration, and a chewy, tannic structure that should age well. Give bottles a year or two, and then drink over the following 5-8 years. Score: 90. Source: Jeb Dunnuck, therhonereport.com, Sept. 2012

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
