Old World Chardonnay with a touch of oak but not much. Nice price. Green apple goodness. Harvested from the southern end of Burgundy. The Talmard name is recorded in viticultural documents going all the way back to the seventeenth century. Finishes with a citrus lift and bright orchard fruit. Pair with Dover sole.

Food pairings: stuffed roast chicken, linguini with clams and fennel, grilled fish, lobster in butter sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

From France's S Burgundy, an elegant Chardonnay with white tree fruit and citrus aromatics. White tree fruit, pineapple, lemon, oak and fresh coconut palate in a creamy, smooth mouthfeel with rich coconut finish.
Tasted Oct. 2016
Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fruit forward and complex Chardonnay from Burgundian south, crafted by Talmard family. Extra-dry, crisp and aromatic with vibrant acidity and pronounced minerality. The palate is full and rich with aromas and flavours of ripe pears, granny smith apples and apricots, closes in a lingering elegant finish. Great as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood and goat’s cheese. Tasted Nov 2016. Tania Thomas – www.taniathomas.com.
The 2015 vintage of the Cave Talmard Macon-Uchizy is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in the Maconnais region in southern Burgundy. The Talmard family has been making wine there since the 17th century. - Community Wine Reviews
