Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aromas of plum and red cherry with a note of cranberry, along with hints of smoke and black pepper. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate, with bright acidity. Ripe flavours of strawberry and cherry, with hints of black pepper and some minerality on the finish. Lovely! Enjoy with grilled pork, sausages, or mushroom dishes.
M rated this wine as 90/100
Hand-picked in our Estate Vineyard’s Courtney Block as grape sugars averaged 23.2 ° Brix. Primary fermentation in a custom-built limestone concrete tank, with 10 % of the fruit fermenting in whole clusters. The largest share (70 %) of the wine was transferred to neutral oak barriques to complete malo-lactic fermentation and age for 16 months. The other 30 % aged 10 months in new barrels
and a further 6 months in older oak.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
