Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine has such a good pedigree, it is merely an annotation on the label; kind of like having a friend with multiple doctorates, but who only admits to having done "some schooling."
This is not just a stunning wine from Gevrey Chambertin, one of the coolest spots for good Burgundy. This actually comes from a 1er cru climat called 'Petite Chapelle.'
Medium garnet, with a deep core.
Lifted florality; especially petunia, rosehip, and pu'erh. There is a lot of body, but the oak is imperceptible. Really balanced. Chocolate nib, earth, beet, cherry, and cranberry.
This is a smoking value. A Gevrey Chambertin of 1er cru quality that was made back when boy-bands still roamed the Earth.
This might age further, but it is prudent to have it now, while it still has all of its vitality.
From the Burgundy wine region, Maison Roche De Bellene Collection Bellenum Petite Chapelle (2001) is a premier cru from the Gevrey-Chambertin commune in the Côte-d'Or department of France. This deep-red Pinot Noir is ripe dark plums with sweet cake spice. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
