From famed producer, M. Chapoutier another fantastic vintage for Les Vignes De Bila-Haut 2017 and fantastic value. Wine grapes are grown organically and biodynamically for this zesty, full-bodied red blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan. Sensuous, flavourful to the last sip. look for dark berries, plums, spice and dried herbs on nose and palate. Well-structured and a pleasure to drink, Pair with grilled fennel sausages and sweet potato wedges.

Food pairings: braised partridge, grilled chicken breast with cranberry and red currant sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

What great value here! Even with January's stripped-down budget you can enjoy excellent wine. The 2017 vintage is just as pleasureable as the 2016, with its silky, aromatic and tangy blend of Syrah, Grenache and 10% Carignan. Lots of dark berries, plums, spice and dried herbs on nose and palate. Well-structured and sensuous, a flavourful wine from first to last sip.

L.J. Palmer rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep purple colour with a medium intensity nose. Aroma of dark fruit, including cherry, with a herbal note. Off dry, medium bodied with medium tannin and balanced acidity. Nice smooth taste of dark fruit, very pleasant with lamb chops grilled with olive oil, garlic and rosemary. Syrah, Grenache and Carignan is one of my favourite blends and this is a very pleasant sipper.
From the Côtes Du Roussillon in the Midi wine region, M. Chapoutier Les Vignes De Bila-Haut 2017 is fantastic value for quality from this famed producer. This full-bodied red wine is a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan. Wine grapes are grown organically and biodynamically and this zesty red is sensuous, flavourful to the last sip. Look for ripe plum, cherry and licorice flavours and a savoury spice finish. Pair with a rare roast of beef. - Community Wine Reviews
