Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

I love Cabernet Franc. While many prefer Cab. Sauvignon with steak or chops from the grill, my go to is Cab Franc for just about anything from lamb chops to a veal Porterhouse, slow-braised beef ribs to a grilled petit tendre. A lighter style, made-for-summer Cabernet Franc from Lunessence Winery and Vineyards (2021) is produced from sustainably grown grapes sourced from an environmentally friendly and organically certified vineyard and is produced from 100% Cabernet Franc. Grapes were whole cluster pressed with a portion (40%) foot trodden. The wine was aged in French oak barrels (12% new) for up to one year and then bottled unfined and unfiltered.

For the winery, "It’s about harmony with the land, the vines and the wines." And this wine is harmonious and balanced all the way around! Dry, medium-weight, fresh and lifted, it is fragrant with ripe raspberry, smoky plum, black cherry, blueberry, anise and pepper spice flavours with a flinty mineral finish lingering on a mocha note. Very nicely crafted framed with velvety tannins. Enjoy it through 2026. Tasted March 2024.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
