Full-bodied Argentine Malbec with lots of attractive mocha and chocolate on the nose from generous oak aging. Fleshy black fruit emerges on the palate. Delicious and layered. The grapes for this robust red wine come from three vineyards in the Uco Valley in Altamira, La Consulta and Gualtallary. The vines are an average 46 years old. The wine is then matured for 16 months in French oak, 60% of which is new. Pair with prime rib.

Malbec food pairings: pizza, lamb, spicy sausage, beef, hamburger.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
