Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Lua Cheia 2019 from the Douro region in Portugal is an everyday red wine with flavors of sour plum, blueberry, earl grey tea, granite dust, dark chocolate and nutmeg. The wine shows a medium body, soft tannins, high acidity and short and cleansing finish. Palate: cherry, sugarplum, violet, graphite, dark chocolate and nuts. Enjoy.
From Saven, Lua Cheia 2019 is produced from old vines Touriga Nacional from the Douro wine region. Fragrant on the nose with ripe blueberry, blackberry and flinty aromas. This is a full-bodied, dry and concentrated red wine with supple tannins and a long delivery of dark berry, meaty, spicy and savoury flavours. Perfect for game dishes and roast beef. Produced by Winemaker, Francisco Baptista. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
