Rustic and tannic with a savoury grip. It's a robust blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. It's produced by a famous chateau that won't reveal its name on the label, but rather teases only that it's famous ... I wonder why? Decant 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Food pairings: barbecued steak, grilled lamb chops, hamburger, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Opaque dark garnet with intense aromas of dark fruit, cherry, vanilla, sous-bois and espresso. What a start! Satiny smooth palate adds a note of salinity. Velvety tannins and lingering savoury finish. Lots of flavour happening here! Decant 1-2 hours then savour this one with roast wild boar, rack of lamb, or venison.
Tasted Jan. 2019
L'expression De Pauillac 2014 is a Grand Vin Bordeaux produced from Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc from the Pauillac Wine Region. Smokey on the nose with dark black fruit, savoury herb and spicy flavours on the palate. Would benefit from some time in cellar -- about three years. If pouring now, decant one hour prior to serving it with a roast prime rib. - Community Wine Reviews
