Le Macchiole's Bolgheri Rosso from Tuscany is a concentrated, medium-bodied red wine blending Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with notes of boysenberry, wild raspberry, dried thyme and violet. This dry wine displays refined tannins and vibrant spine of acidity that will continue to develop over the next seven years. Serve it at room temperature with Porchetta as the wine's sinewy structure complements the herb-crusted pork, or pair it with braised veal shanks where the wine's midnight-plum character stands up to the rich, tender meat. Winemaker Cinzia Merli crafts this youthful wine with remarkable focus and precision, revealing dusty earth and stony minerality alongside cocoa nib and crushed pepper complexity on the clean, savory finish. The wine's flowing palate and sleek tannins keep its power in check while offering fantastic value potential. This pretty, bright wine represents outstanding quality and will drink beautifully through 2033.

Food pairings: Porchetta, braised veal shanks, polpette.
